Condition grades
What the word on the card means
Condition describes cosmetics. Testing status describes what we checked. They are separate on purpose: a clean carton does not prove a compressor runs, and a dent does not mean it does not.
- New
- Brand-new product. The packaging may show warehouse or freight wear, but the item has never been owned. If we ran it, the listing says so. If it says untested, it is untested.
- Open box
- Opened, display, or resealed. Still new product, not a previous owner's fridge. Read the test line on the card.
- Excellent
- Light or no cosmetic issues we could see. Often a freight scratch on a side or the carton. Usually powered on. Confirm on the listing.
- Good
- A ding, scratch, or scuff we wrote down. The machine is still new product, not a hand-me-down. Read the notes. Tested or not is on the card.
- Fair
- Obvious cabinet or door damage. Priced that way on purpose. Still not a used trade-in unless the notes say otherwise. Read the notes like a mechanic.
- For parts
- Not a working-unit bet. Buy it for parts, repair, or scrap. Assume it does not run unless the listing proves otherwise.

We photograph the unit tied to the SKU and list visible damage when we find it. Look at every photo, read the notes, and come inspect it in Penryn before you load it. Nothing on this page replaces the item-specific card.
